Reporting to the
Head of Finance , the
Commercial Finance Manager
provides high quality commercial finance and technical accounting support across the Wealth & Capital Markets platform. You’ll deliver robust budgeting, forecasting and trusted business partnering across Funds Management, Trustees, FTE and support units.
This role is hands‑on and influential - supporting high integrity financial reporting, applying accounting standards, assisting with audit and governance requirements, and providing clear insights that help leaders make informed decisions.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Supporting compliance with applicable accounting standards ( AASB/IFRS ) across assigned entities, including documentation and audit readiness
Preparing accounting treatments for non‑routine or judgement‑based transactions
Supporting internal and external audits, including schedules and responses to audit queries
Preparing high quality monthly and periodic reporting packs that clearly articulate key drivers, variances, trends, risks and opportunities
Delivering clear, concise financial commentary suitable for senior stakeholders and governance forums
Acting as a trusted finance partner to business leaders, Fund Managers and support units, providing analysis and insights to support decision making
Preparing scenario and sensitivity analysis and responding to ad‑hoc requests to support funding, performance or investment decisions
Supporting annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, coordinating data collection and validation with robust assumptions aligned to business plans
Monitoring cash flows for assigned entities, preparing forecasts and supporting funding requests in liaison with Group Finance and Treasury
Overseeing preparation of Board and committee reporting, ensuring papers are accurate, clearly articulated and submitted to required timelines
Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting quality, efficiency, automation, controls and documentation
About You:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial finance, management accounting or financial analysis roles
Practical experience applying
AASB/IFRS
in a business environment
CA/CPA Qualified
Experience supporting audits and operating within regulated or governance‑focused environments
Strong business partnering capability with the ability to translate financials into clear, decision‑ready insights
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis and performance reporting
Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance and reporting systems
Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline and ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines
