The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing Australian construction start-up already generating revenue in its inaugural year with envious pipeline. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will establish the finance function and critically supporting the Managing Director and board with all commercial matters and projects.
The Challenge
The core responsibilities for this role will include but not be limited to:
Formulation and delivery of an annual finance strategy including strategic planning, project financial performance, forecast revenue growth, cash flow and tax planning
Strategic liaison with key stakeholders including banks, tax agents, auditors, insurance brokers, state and federal based regulatory bodies and other statutory agencies
Responsible for conducting monthly project financial reviews with project teams and business partnering to support decision making
Balance sheet and working capital management
Ensuring compliance with all tax requirements including, PAYG, FBT, GST, Payroll Tax, Income Tax
Responsible for all financial reporting and the financial audit process
Accurate and timely delivery of management reports and other financial information
Developing and delivering performance measures (KPIs) for the finance function
Leading and directing the finance and administrative teams for the business by mentoring, performance managing and re allocating resources where appropriate
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
Ideally Big4 or second tier-chartered accounting experience prior to your successful transition into industry
Industry experience in property and construction
Ability to be hands‑on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team-oriented environment
Superior financial accounting and management reporting experience
Strategic planning and complex financial modelling
Experience in the development of internal controls and financial policies
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
Self‑starter who can build relationships across the business
A strong desire to continue to grow your career as the business expands
Passionate with high achievement drive and a can‑do attitude
Previous experience in a construction company undertaking an accelerated growth trajectory will be looked upon favourably
