Genomic Health Clinic is a leading provider of private genetic services in Australia, offering access to the nation’s only full-time private Genetic Counsellor and experienced Clinical Geneticists. We provide comprehensive genetic testing, counselling, and patient clinical reviews utilizing advanced methods such as nanopore technology. Our services include paediatric whole exome and genome sequencing (WES), connective tissue disorders, autoimmune conditions, carrier screening, adult cancer and cardiac testing, polygenic risk scores, and pharmacogenomics (PGx), ensuring short wait times and rapid results for our clients.

Role Description

We are seeking a Clinical Geneticist for a contract-based hybrid role located in Perth, WA. This role includes both in-clinic patient consultations and remote work. Responsibilities include conducting genetic testing, consulting with patients and healthcare providers, preparing accurate reports, and collaborating to develop management plans for inherited conditions. The Clinical Geneticist will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care and advancing genetic services of our clinic. There also exists the possibility of a clinical advisory role in an exciting new research project in 2026.

Qualifications

Expertise in genetic testing and interpretation of genomic and clinical data

Strong skills in patient consultation, genetic counselling, and developing personalised genetic management plans

Proficiency in documentation, preparing detailed genetic reports, and maintaining medical records in a timely manner

Familiarity with genomic tools and techniques such as WES, carrier screening, polygenic risk scores, and pharmacogenomics

RACP eligible in Clinical Genetics and ability to work in Australia

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex genetic information to patients and healthcare professionals

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

Prior experience in a private clinical setting or research genetic setting is advantageous

Willingness to participate in multidisciplinary clinical team meetings
