General Manager

Watmar Electrical Contractors is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee our thriving electrical contracting business on the Gold Coast, Queensland. As our General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational management of the company, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional electrical services to our valued clients. This is a full-time position based in our Molendinar office.

What you'll be doing

Providing strong leadership and direction to the Watmar Electrical Contractors team

Overseeing all aspects of business operations, including project management, financial management, and human resources

Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability

Fostering a positive and collaborative work culture that promotes teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders

Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards

Representing the company at industry events and in the local community

What we're looking for

Qualified electrician (mandatory)

with current QLD electrical licence, preferably a QLD Contractors Licence to become our QTP

Strong understanding of business operations, scheduling, and workflows

Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep the team moving smoothly

Someone who can think commercially and make smart decisions

Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the electrical contracting industry

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and a deep understanding of the electrical contracting industry

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions

Strong estimating skills for all size projects

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and industry stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment

Additional qualifications / skills in air conditioning or solar will be highly regarded
