Education The Candidate Company

Job Description

Overview AgForce is a peak organisation representing Queensland's rural producers, existing to ensure the long-term growth, viability, competitiveness, and profitability of the broadacre industries including cattle, grain, cane, sheep and wool in our state.

Their members manage over 51,580,534 ha, which equates to 35% of all agricultural land in Queensland (Source: ABARES, 2016), and 30% of all of mainland Queensland (Source: Geoscience Australia).

It is a not-for-profit organisation with over 5500 members and was born out of the need for a single, united voice for all broadacre producers, to represent members on Agri-political issues and create opportunities to support them.

Driven by a dynamic transformation agenda and the recent appointment of the current CEO, a new executive leadership team is being formed with three critical roles in market. This is an exciting opportunity to join an important organisation approaching its next phase of evolution and growth, in a role that will have significant impact on our highly valued rural producers.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Research & Education is responsible for implementing effective research and education programs that deliver on organisational objectives relating to better outcomes for broadacre producers and the wider sector.

They will be accountable for the leadership and performance of the Research & Education team, which encompasses governance and strategic oversight of the AgForce asset portfolio and full management accountability for the Belmont Station research site.

This is an opportunity to become a trusted advisor to the CEO and ELT, providing guidance and expertise on research, education and asset management, while operating as an enterprise-wide leader that contributes to the achievement of overarching organisational goals.

Qualifications The successful candidate will understand both the rural and VET / university sector in Australia along with deep experience in the design and delivery of effective education and training programs, while demonstrating a mindset for identifying and securing alternate revenue opportunities for research and education.

They will be an advanced project manager with a track record in successfully creating successful grant applications, milestones reporting, acquittals and generating funding opportunities.
