About Us The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

About the Role The primary position objectives of the Speech Pathology Clinic Lead are to provide clinical supervision and be a resource for the professional development of the IUIH speech pathologists and students placed within the speech pathology team. This role will also support the speech pathology team to provide direct culturally appropriate speech pathology services as part of a multi‑disciplinary team/program.

Your day to day duties may include:

Working alongside the larger Paediatric Services Team & Allied Health Team to support integration of services within the broader IUIH network

Providing clinical services to clients during hours of operation of the service, in keeping with accepted best practice standards. This will include clinic‑based appointments and, where appropriate, school/home visits.

Liaising with local kindergartens and schools regarding the services available and developing pathways and partnerships for referrals.

Providing culturally responsive assessment and intervention for children, including individual and group programs.

Addressing continuous professional development, identifying education needs and options.

Providing one‑on‑one mentoring in development of skills & practices at least monthly, but more frequently, depending on staff experience or need.

Participating in the development of best practice resource and processes, such as:

Contributing to continuous quality improvement, including attendance at Lead Clinicians' Group meetings

Collecting monthly data for reporting

Liaising with other programs or services to identify expansion & integration opportunities

Managing & coordinating rostering, as well as providing back‑fill for staff in clinics as required for service delivery

Providing effective induction and supervision for speech pathology staff and students

About You

Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)

Current Criminal History Check

Current Working with Children's Check (QLD Blue Card)

Current Disability Workers Screening Check (Yellow Card)

Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Registration with Speech Pathology Australia

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology

Desirable, but not mandatory:

Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities
