About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join our team as
Head of Programs and Engagement (Victoria) .
This role leads a passionate team responsible for delivering Leo Cussen’s
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP)
and other professional legal education programs. You’ll oversee program delivery, strengthen professional partnerships, and contribute to our national growth and reputation as a leader in legal education.
This position plays a key role in shaping program excellence, aligning delivery with organisational strategy, and supporting innovation across jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Victorian Education Delivery team to ensure high‑quality, learner‑centred program outcomes.
Manage delivery of the GDLP and other legal education programs.
Strengthen stakeholder and professional relationships.
Collaborate with colleagues nationally to support business development and strategic initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and quality assurance in program delivery.
Manage budgets, resources, and operational priorities effectively.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You’re an experienced lawyer and leader with strong people and program management skills, ideally with a background in legal education, professional training, or the broader higher education sector.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience leading high‑performing teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Strategic thinking and the ability to translate ideas into action.
Sound financial and operational management skills.
A collaborative and values‑driven leadership style.
Willingness to travel primarily within Victoria to reach potential markets.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Law (essential).
Admission (or eligibility for admission) to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner (essential).
Postgraduate qualification in Education, Business, Leadership, or Management (desirable).
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (desirable).

This role suits a Victorian based within reasonable commuting distance to our Melbourne Based Head Office with
option to work on a hybrid basis , working onsite at Leo Cussen's premises at least five (5) days in a fortnight.
