What we need from you:

8+ years’ experience in solution architecture, with strong focus on data analytics and data platforms

Proven experience designing scalable, secure data architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments

Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy frameworks

Ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions aligned to business outcomes

Demonstrated ability to manage change and enable continuous improvement

About Our Client: Our client is a Queensland Government department responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making through modern analytics platforms, supporting strategic, operational, and regulatory outcomes across the organisation.

Role Description:

The Solutions Architect (Data Analytics) is responsible for leading the design, evaluation, and implementation of enterprise-level data analytics solutions.

This role ensures data solutions are aligned with business requirements, technology standards, and governance frameworks.

You will provide expert architectural guidance, assess solution options, and support the delivery of scalable, high-performing analytics platforms.

The role works closely with project managers, data engineers, analysts, and senior stakeholders to enable current and future state analytics capabilities.

What be you’ll doing?

Design end-to‑end data analytics architectures across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments

Translate business and technical data requirements into secure, scalable analytics solutions

Perform options analysis, market scans, and proof‑of‑concepts for modern analytics platforms

Identify architecture risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear recommendations

Develop cost estimates for solution delivery and ongoing operational support

Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards

Document data integration, analytics workflows, pipelines, and solution designs

Your Skills:

Strong solution architecture experience within data and analytics domains

Expertise in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (ADF, Synapse), AWS, or GCP

Experience with modern analytics platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Purview

Proficiency in data modelling, integration patterns, and analytics solution design

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level communication

Ability to produce architecture artefacts, gap analysis, and solution recommendations

Familiarity with Power BI and data visualisation tools

Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks (desirable)
