Job Description
Due to an internal staff movement, a fantastic opportunity has become available in our Finance Services team on a permanent full time basis for a Senior Finance Officer (Revenue).
In this role, the successful applicant will report directly to the Coordinator Revenue Services and will deliver timely, accurate and compliant revenue and rate services while supporting the continual improvement of revenue and rates systems and processes and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Administer the collection of revenue, property and rates according to organisational objectives and statutory requirements.
Attend to internal and external revenue, property and rates enquiries.
Assist with the maintenance, review and administration of the fees and charges schedule in collaboration with relevant branches.
Maintain and assist in the preparation of Councils' rate notices.
Prepare and process valuation changes, levy of interim rates and issue of interim rate notices.
Assist with developing and implementing collection procedures for outstanding rates, charges, and debtor's accounts in collaboration with relevant branches.
Calculate and produce sundry debtors' invoices, statements, final notices, credit notes, grants schedules, and the reinstatement process.
Maintain the electoral roll and other related electoral duties as required.
Assist with the creation of new strata subdivisions, amalgamations, and liaise with relevant departments on house numbering issues.
Help to identify and implement improvements to revenue and rating systems and processes to internal staff.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
Sound time management, planning and coordinating skills.
Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks.
Ability to interrogate the financial system and analyse data.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the Local Government Act 1995, Rates and Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Act 1992, and Valuation of Land Act 1978.
Completed or progression towards a Certificate IV in Accounting and/or Bookkeeping, or equivalent accredited industry-based training course, or demonstrated significant knowledge and experience in a similar role.
Federal Police Clearance not more than 6 months old at engagement.

Salary Package
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 5. The salary range is $86,452.08 to $96,200 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
