We’re seeking a commercially focused legal professional to provide strategic advice across all business units, ensuring compliance and protection of rights in day-to-day operations. A key part of the role involves being the subject matter expert for employment and safety law and managing employment and safety law matters across all business units – with a focus on post-employment restraints of trades, employment regulatory compliance and workplace health and safety compliance.
Role
Whilst the role does have a focus on employment and safety law, you’ll also enjoy variety in your role, including:
Draft and review hire contracts, including taking instructions from the business and negotiating with external legal or other customer representatives.
Provide commercially astute legal advice to business stakeholders.
Review changes in legislation and advise the business on implications.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including statutory authorities and government agencies.
Conduct legal research.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
Relevant legal qualifications
Possess and maintain a current practising certificate
6+ years’ PQE experience in house
Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
Construction or construction adjacent experience will be well regarded
A growth mindset, open, friendly and approachable with a can-do attitude
A proven strategic and commercially focused approach to supporting Coates achieve optimal legal outcomes in a dynamic business environment
