Your Role And Responsibilities As a Solution Architect you'll be a pivotal team member who connects the client's technical, functional, and implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal. You'll work closely with clients and sellers to build solutions that meet the client's business outcomes and follow best practices for the technology and industry. In this fast‑paced role you will design, construct, and build work‑breakdown structures leading to rough‑order‑of‑magnitude estimates, pricing, and statements of work. End‑to‑End Technical Guidance: Providing expert end‑to‑end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, and work with technical leads and sellers to create proposals.

Finding the Best Architectural Outcomes: Leading client workshops, influencing stakeholders at all levels to find the best architectural outcomes that align with business and technology strategies, and creating actionable roadmaps with clear direction on execution to ensure business value and ROI.

Maintaining Solution Review Boards: Developing and contributing to solution review boards for proposals, including oversight for technology assurance, quality, and risk evaluation.

Building Successful Relationships: Establishing and maintaining personal relationships at all levels—from engineers to CIOs—and navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Documenting and sizing services‑focused solutions, including functional and implementation requirements that connect phases such as design, development, integration, migration, production support, and operations.

Building credibility and client‑centric skills: Knowledge for building client credibility and services orientation aligned to Data & AI solutions.

Data and AI technology experience: Building credibility for Data and AI methodology and practices for data management, data fabric, data governance, trustworthy AI, and business analytics or equivalent enterprise solutions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, supervisors, and peers, as well as presentation, organizational, and planning skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to gain client confidence and maintain professional relationships with clients, peers, and management.

Capability to act as a team lead on certain projects and supervise multiple developers, assisting them with programming and analytical functions, developing work plans for individual tasks, and working with minimal direction.

Experience with an agile development methodology, participation in JAD sessions, and performing user requirements definitions.

Demonstrated ability to present technology solutions to executive levels.

Ability to define architecture, design, and oversight of key national projects, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to field resources.

Able to work independently and multi‑task while managing multiple customers simultaneously.

Demonstrate a team attitude and leadership.

10+ years of experience in IT systems, with 5+ years in a solution architect role.

Must be an Australian Citizen.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Data & AI technology expertise: Experience working with a broad spectrum of Data & AI technology solutions.

Cloud consulting experience: Experience consulting on solutions including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and/or cloud.

Expertise in data and IT technologies: Deep technical knowledge of data and IT software technologies, including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Db2, Cognos, IBM Watson Studio, and related AI frameworks or equivalent enterprise solutions.

Government clearance is highly desired.
