Senior Substation Engineer

to support Pre-bid (EOI or ECI) and execution projects for renewable energy projects (PV/BESS) and Transmission Lines are in progress. Various projects are planned in the NEM region. About the Role

Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems or components Analyze electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs and then develop a system plan Creating and maintaining product documentation, including product reports and design specifications Analyzing and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time Enacting Electrical System Concept & Design Criteria, Performing in Electrical Study & Equipment Sizing Calculation, Establishing Equipment List & Electrical Load List, Preparing Technical Specification & Equipment Supplier TBE, Creating Construction Process Drawing & Deliverables, Designing GIS/AIS/Transmission Lines, Taking-off Electrical Bill of Material etc Ensuring that products meet relevant safety standards and engineering codes Technical bid evaluation for electrical equipment Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budget Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget Attending, hosting or coordinating technical meetings Define customer needs and requirements Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests About You

Tertiary qualification in engineering. Additional certificate in design is desirable 10+ years detailed design/engineering experience in 132kV and above Substation & Transmission Lines in Australia Experience in Renewable PV Solar Farm and/or large-scale Battery Storage projects (minimum 100MW) Experience in AutoCAD or other software in the discipline of expertise Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NER, AEMO, and NSP regulations Proficiency in HV substation design and Transmission Lines Experience with review and modification works for schematic diagrams which shall be provided in Substation Good understanding of PV and BESS system design, integration, HV & LV AC & DC side Ability to develop detailed electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, technical proposals & reports Experience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent) Understanding of power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, protection) Experience in an EPC environment managing project design scope, schedule, and budget Strong ability to liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies Experience in design review, verification, and assessment of renewable projects Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues Experience with design consultant SoW drafting Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Understanding of Grid Connection Process A candidate for this position will be result-oriented, be a creative and strategic thinker, work comfortably in a highly collaborative environment, and work comfortably in a constantly evolving environment Samsung C&T Corporation is committed to building diverse and inclusive teams.
