Job Description
In this Senior Consultant, Cost Optimisation role, you will:
Be a cost optimisation expert – Lead the identification, analysis and delivery of sustainable cost reduction initiatives across Personal Everyday Banking.
Drive deep analysis – Conduct detailed cost analysis to uncover inefficiencies, duplication, leakage and opportunities for simplification, automation and optimisation.
Develop robust business cases – Build strong financial cases for cost initiatives, outlining benefits, risks, investment requirements and implementation timelines.
Partner for financial discipline – Work closely with Finance to ensure initiatives are financially sound, benefits are quantified accurately, and savings are tracked and realised.
Enable transformation – Support major programs by translating strategic cost objectives into actionable initiatives with measurable outcomes.
Provide meaningful insights – Monitor cost actions, track benefits, and report on progress, risks and impacts to senior stakeholders.
Embed strong governance – Ensure all initiatives comply with governance standards, risk frameworks and best‑practice change management principles.
What you will bring:
Strong analytical capability with a forensic approach to cost analysis and problem solving.
Commercial acumen with an understanding of financial impacts, trade‑offs and value creation.
High attention to detail and the ability to focus on material drivers of cost and value.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in business transformation, operational improvement or cost optimisation within a large, complex organisation.
Proven ability to identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives, including process re‑engineering, operating model redesign and workforce optimisation.
Experience in detailed financial and cost analysis.
Exposure to large‑scale change programs and structured delivery methodologies.
Tertiary qualifications and/or proven industry experience.
