Job Description The role involves designing secure, scalable and cost‑efficient Databricks environments. It includes leading platform design, setting up strong governance controls and ensuring good integration with Azure, AWS or on‑prem workloads. The architect also leads migration of data and analytics workloads into Databricks and provides guidance on cluster, notebook and pipeline best practice.

The role is responsible for designing the Databricks platform architecture, leading workload migrations, defining platform governance and security controls, and developing integration patterns while providing technical direction across clusters, notebooks and jobs. It also involves ongoing delivery support by reviewing solution designs, optimising pipelines and cluster performance, resolving technical platform issues, and working closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with client expectations. In addition, the role contributes to capability uplift across the practice by sharing reusable patterns and best practices, coaching team members, and actively participating in internal and external Databricks community initiatives.

Qualifications

Deep knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Lakeflow

Strong understanding of big data patterns and architectures

Experience with Azure or AWS data and analytics workloads

Databricks Professional certification preferred

Clear written and verbal communication

Ability to guide and influence technical teams

Strong problem‑solving skills and resilience under pressure

Able to manage stakeholders with tact and sensitivity
