Job Summary
Our client is progressing through a significant digital transformation program, and the Senior Solution Architect plays a critical role in enabling strategic business outcomes through technology. The ICT function features a robust technology landscape and a strong commitment to innovative, business-aligned solutions. This role sits within a client-facing services team that partners closely with business units to respond to emerging needs and solve complex challenges. The broader function includes Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis and Process Management, Portfolio and Project Management, Strategic Initiative Delivery, Shaping and Estimating, Delivery Lifecycle governance, Business Agility coaching, and Portfolio Management Office governance.
The Senior Solution Architect leads the design and delivery of enterprise solutions supporting strategic objectives. The role partners with stakeholders to define requirements, architect robust systems, evaluate technologies, and develop roadmaps while ensuring alignment with standards, compliance obligations, and delivery priorities. Mentoring and capability uplift form part of the remit.
Objectives
Design secure, scalable, integrated solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Deliver compliant, high-quality architecture designs and artefacts.
Translate business needs into clear solution options that improve processes and user experience.
Recommend technologies aligned with strategic roadmaps and best practice.
Provide end-to-end technical leadership across the solution lifecycle.
Drive simplification, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities
Align solutions with enterprise architecture standards and reference models.
Lead discovery and solution design activities.
Produce clear, high-quality architecture documentation.
Provide technical oversight through implementation.
Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Identify risks, dependencies, and resource impacts.
Support knowledge sharing and foster a collaborative team culture.
Main Requirements
Demonstrated capability in architecting and delivering solutions using Microsoft technologies (Azure, Microsoft 365, integration and identity services) across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
Strong understanding of application and integration architecture, including APIs, middleware, data management, and modern development patterns.
Proven experience in requirements analysis, technical solution design, and the preparation of high-quality technical documentation and architecture artefacts.
Experience working with large enterprise platforms such as ERP systems, information management systems, digital platforms, and other core business applications.
Sound knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and relevant Australian legislative obligations affecting digital service delivery.
Experience applying project and delivery methodologies and contributing to effective planning, estimation, and risk management.
Highly developed communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decision‑making and negotiate technical outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support technical teams, fostering collaboration, capability uplift, and continuous improvement.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a strong interest in emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to digital strategy.
