About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer - SCADA to join our Protection and Test Services team in a senior leadership role. You'll lead the delivery of complex projects involving control centres, communication networks, generation, transmission, and distribution systems, and mentor the next generation of engineers.
Responsibilities
Lead SCADA system projects, design and configuration.
Provide expert engineering advice on regulatory compliance, system integration, and emerging technologies.
Act as technical lead on major bids and proposals, supporting business development and client engagement.
Manage SCADA-related systems and documentation including software versions, virtual machines, testing equipment, and client-specific standards.
Contribute to financial planning and project management through estimates, budgets, and reporting.
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or related field), and RPEQ or RPEV accreditation.
Significant experience in SCADA systems across renewable energy, substations, and grid infrastructure.
Proficiency in multiโvendor SCADA configurations, RTUs, HMIs, and relevant communication protocols.
Understanding of the Australian electricity industry and regulatory requirements.
Track record of managing risk, maintaining safety standards, and delivering quality outcomes.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
Experience with cyber security frameworks (AESCSF, ISA/IEC) and SCADA integration with AEMO systems.
Testing, commissioning, and estimating experience.
Project management certification or demonstrated highโlevel project delivery capability.
