About the role This Senior Community Lawyer position sits within the Family Violence Initiatives team and operates in a senior capacity across integrated practice programs including SAGE, Mabels and WELS. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, trauma-informed legal services to women experiencing or at risk of family violence, while also strengthening partnerships and mentoring legal staff.

You will manage a complex caseload across family violence and family law matters and work closely with family violence advocates, health professionals and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. The role also contributes to secondary consultations, community legal education and ongoing service improvement.

Skills and experience required You bring experience in integrated or health justice partnership settings, community and family law, strong technical capability and commitment to social justice. You are confident handling complex matters and comfortable working in multidisciplinary and culturally diverse environments.

You also have:

Legal expertise with sound judgement, empathy, collaboration and leadership capability

Unrestricted Victorian practising certificate

Strong experience in family violence and family law casework & litigation

A trauma-informed and client-centred practice approach

Experience mentoring staff and working in multidisciplinary teams
