Insurance - Junior Lawyer

Overview Due to growth of our Adelaide Insurance team, we’re seeking a Lawyer (1-3 PQE) to join working alongside Grant Mitchell and Bronwyn Ackland.

The Role Due to growth of our Adelaide Insurance team, we’re seeking a dedicated and talented Lawyer (1-3 PQE) to join working alongside Grant Mitchell and Bronwyn Ackland. The team acts for some of Australia’s largest insurers, corporate entities, the State of South Australia, and NFPs in South Australian and Commonwealth courts in the areas of professional indemnity and public and product liability, including medical negligence and construction disputes.

Responsibilities

Assist senior lawyers in managing a diverse defendant insurance portfolio

Draft pleadings, correspondence, advices, and evidence summaries

Conduct legal research and contribute to strategy development

Liaise with insurers, insured clients, experts, and counsel

Attend court events, mediations, and settlement conferences

Qualifications

Between 1-3 years’ PQE, ideally from a defendant insurance practice. Relevant in‑house experience will also be considered

Strong academic results

Solid legal research, drafting, and analytical skills

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Ability to manage competing deadlines with attention to detail

A proactive approach to learning and professional development
