About this role Fixed Term, Full time position (2yrs)

Salary range : $81,081 - $96,976 plus super

Up to $15,900 in salary packaging, hybrid work arrangements

The Communications Advisor will deliver and support corporate and internal communications and engagement activities at Victoria Legal Aid (VLA), in line with organisational priorities and strategic objectives. They will assist in developing, implementing and evaluating communications and engagement activities, and deliver high-quality content in line with communications best practice.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess :

Demonstrated experience in developing communications materials to support broader strategies, preferably in the not-for-profit, government and / or legal sectors.

Demonstrated experience of digital content creation for a range of channels driven by strategic objectives, relevance to target audiences and creativity.

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including ability to apply plain language and accessibility expertise and adapting content for different audiences, channels and formats.

Demonstrated abilities in using data and analysis to work innovatively, generate new ideas, and evaluate their effectiveness.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with a commitment to working effectively with staff across the organisation and stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to plan and prioritise according to team and organisational priorities, delivering work to a high standard and to deadlines.

Demonstrated experience working with First Nations people, including an understanding of the cultural norms, communication styles and complex issues experienced by First Nations peoples in Australia.
