Data Architect

A Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Data Architect. The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical advice to stakeholders on data engineering and analytics patterns and solutions. The successful candidate will work to the direction of the Project manager as well as: Collaborating closely with Agency’s Strategy and Architecture function Adhering to the Department's IT Change Management Framework Building positive, collaborative, and enduring working relationships with internal stakeholders, project managers, external suppliers and service providers in order to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data architect role, or similar, working with organisations to understand and mature their data landscape and the various platforms and tools that enable it Solid data platform engineering skills and knowledge, including with the underlying technology estate (ICT infrastructure, networking, hardware, storage, virtualisation, operating systems, public cloud and software platforms, etc.) to support data-intensive use cases and applications Experience in working with Microsoft Azure and architecting solutions made up of both proprietary (e.g., SAS) and open-source statistics and analytics technologies (e.g., R) is crucial. Exceptional level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and an ability to effectively develop strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and operational staff. Experience across both Windows and Linux/Unix-like environments is also highly desirable Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be an Australian citizen with Baseline Security clearance or has the ability to obtain it.
