Job Description

The Business Patties Food Group is a values-led organisation with a rich Australian history, home to some of our most iconic brands including Four’N Twenty, Patties, Herbert Adams, Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers and On the Menu. As the market leader in frozen savoury and frozen meals categories, we operate six manufacturing sites across ANZ supported by a 1,700-strong workforce. We are a business with a bold growth agenda, a long-term focus, and a high-performing Marketing function. This rare opportunity marks the first time in over six years that this portfolio has been open to the market. At Patties, we put warm, satisfied, irresistible smiles on consumers’ faces — yesterday, today, forever.

The Role We’re searching for a seasoned senior marketing leader to take ownership of our Ready Meals category — a strategically critical and high-growth segment within Patties Food Group. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Growth Officer, this role holds full responsibility for driving category growth, delivering financial outcomes, and shaping the long-term strategic direction of the Ready Meals portfolio across all brands, channels and markets. You will lead the development and delivery of a rolling three-year category business plan, grounded in consumer insights, brand performance analysis, commercial acumen and cross‑functional alignment. This is a highly influential role, with direct accountability for Ready Meals category P&L, innovation leadership, pricing strategy, brand health, and communication excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include

Lead and deliver the three-year strategic category plan, identifying growth opportunities, consumer trends, and brand priorities.

Own the Ready Meals P&L, delivering annual financial objectives across NSR, margin, contribution, and market share.

Provide leadership to the cross‑functional Frozen Meals Category team via the IBP process, and lead PMR & SMAP processes.

Understand consumer expectations deeply — conducting quarterly immersions and building powerful insights that shape brand strategy and communications.

Drive best‑practice brand communication, overseeing agency relationships, briefing, media strategy, packaging, digital, PR and social content.

Partner closely with the digital and social teams to deliver engaging experiential programs and content platforms.

Lead innovation using Stage & Gate, ensuring a rolling 3-year roadmap (4-2-1) is visible and aligned to strategic priorities.

Own and guide the development of new products — articulating “new, better, different” propositions and delivering successful launches that meet volume, revenue and margin targets.

Monitor brand health, consumer complaints, KPI performance and financial delivery to ensure the category remains on track.

Manage DME and overhead spend, ensuring visibility, accountability, and alignment with strategy.

Inspire, lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and high‑accountability culture.

The Person To excel in this role, you will bring a strong blend of strategic marketing expertise, commercial acumen, and confident leadership. You will hold relevant postgraduate qualifications, ideally with a Marketing specialisation, and have extensive senior‑level FMCG experience across brand, category management, and P&L responsibility. You will be highly data‑literate, with strong working knowledge of tools such as Quantium and IRI, and a proven ability to turn consumer and shopper insights into compelling category and brand strategies. You will be an influential communicator who can lead cross‑functional teams to deliver complex projects, and someone who naturally fosters collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Your leadership style will reflect Patties’ values of Trust, Courage, Ownership and Integrity, and you will bring the strategic agility to anticipate market trends, identify growth opportunities, and shape the long‑term vision for the Ready Meals category. Ultimately, you will possess the confidence, curiosity and drive to continuously elevate brand equity, consumer relevance and commercial outcomes.

What we offer As a member of the Patties Food Group team, you will have access to generous employee benefits, including salary packaging, hybrid/flexible working arrangements, take home products, access to onsite gym (Mentone site), Employee Assistant Program (EAP) services, supportive parental leave options and multiple social and engagement activities. Join us now! Roles like this don’t come around often, act quick if you want to be considered for this once in a lifetime opportunity before it’s too late.

We do not accept unsolicited resumes from employment agencies. No fee of any type will be paid in the event we hire a candidate whose resume is submitted by an employment agency to any of our employees without a valid written recruitment agreement. Such resumes shall be deemed the sole property of Patties Group.
