What's the role about?
We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven
Commercial Performance Director
to lead and optimise our
Connected Living Programs
across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Sales & Commercial Director, this role is based in either Sydney or Melbourne, with occasional travel across the ANZ region. You’ll be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and market leadership through strong commercial management. This includes overseeing performance across Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA, and strategic program profitability, through the performance of our products across our strategic retail partnerships.
Responsibilities
Define and execute a clear commercial strategy to drive revenue and profitability across Assurant’s Connected Living division in Australia and New Zealand.
Oversee and manage commercial performance across all programs and strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Maintain senior‑level relationships with Assurant’s key clients, fostering long‑term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Actuarial, Finance, Account Directors, and Executives to establish and manage commercial and pricing terms.
Develop and manage a robust commercial reporting framework and governance model, including KPIs and profit share metrics.
Support Sales and Channel Optimisation teams by analysing product and channel performance to identify trends, enhance outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
Work closely with BI teams to deliver analytical insights on product, client, and operational performance to inform strategic decisions.
Support the forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning process analysis in collaboration with the ANZ Finance team.
Qualifications
A Degree in Finance, Commerce or similar
Minimum 7 years+ experience in a Commercial and/or Financially focused role in similar industries such as telecommunications, retail, financial services or utilities
Outstanding commercial acumen with high financial literacy and demonstrable background in strategic thinking, negotiation, understanding market insights and risk management
Solid understanding of accounting and financial principles
Deep experience in commercial management of products and propositions, including pricing and channel optimisation (Retail & Online)
People leading capability with strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a fast‑moving organisation driving rapid growth
Extremely strong Microsoft Excel skills and access modelling/calculation skills with a focus on data accuracy and an ability to creatively problem solve
Flexible mindset and ability to successfully prioritise important tasks against deadlines
Autonomous and adaptable to an ever‑changing business environment
