We are looking for a

Reliability Engineer

to join our Asset Management Supply Chain Services division at 7 Mile Karratha.

The role optimises track asset performance by bringing together multidisciplinary stakeholders, technologies, systems and standards with a primary focus on developing and optimising asset strategy and tactics.

You’ll be part of a high‑performing, diverse team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. Responsibilities

Adhere to all Rio Tinto health and safety standards, policies and procedures and report any safety hazards and risks to the appropriate channels. Provide tactics support to maintenance execution for track assets, including assisting in planning, prioritisation and improvement processes. Engage with Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Projects and OEM stakeholders to improve asset performance. Act as mandatory site endorser for locally governed changes to track strategies and tactics & champion management of change. Develop and optimise strategies and tactics using formal risk‑based processes. Provide technical support for preventive maintenance and assist with scope development and execution. Maintain the site Asset Criticality Assessment (ACA) register depending on accountable asset. Champion Defect Elimination (DE) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and systemic failure processes. Lead the weekly and monthly Defect Elimination Cadence for Track Assets. Analyse maintenance and performance data to improve reliability, performance, cost and support project justification. Conduct technical and data‑based analysis to manage processes including Risk Management, Asset Health, Failure Analysis, Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) modelling and Life Cycle Costs. Project‑manage minor projects aimed at reliability improvement for defects identified by DE processes. Ensure critical spares are identified and established for new assets or asset upgrades and for changes required to critical spares associated with maintenance strategy changes. Contribute to development of whole‑of‑life asset plans and support implementation. What you’ll bring

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team. Respect for others and an all‑inclusive mindset. Experience in track engineering, reliability or maintenance engineering roles. Expertise in application of track engineering principles. Ability to work collaboratively in small teams or independently and demonstrate adaptability. Experience in Defect Elimination processes and Root Cause Analysis. Experience in delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects. Demonstrated understanding of data analytics, asset criticality, cost drivers, asset risk, asset performance and asset life cycles. Demonstrated knowledge of SAP or equivalent CMMS. Lean Six Sigma methodology experience or Black Belt Certification advantageous. A Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline or other relevant technical field experience. This role will be offered on a 5 days on 2 days off, 4 days on 3 days off roster, FIFO from Perth to Karratha. Who we are
