A leading global logistics company is expanding its Industrial & Employee Relations (I&ER) capability to support a fast-moving Payroll Transformation Program and is seeking an experienced Associate/Senior Associate (5–12 years PQE) for an ASAP start, full-time, 12-month secondment, ideally based in Melbourne.

Role Overview: This role supports a major transformation that delivers a new time-and-attendance system, a payroll platform, and an enhanced Workday HRIS. Embedded as the I&ER representative on the payroll program, the lawyer will partner closely with a Senior Advisor to provide senior-level industrial relations and wage compliance expertise to manage risk across fast-moving workstreams.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing a high volume of I&ER queries arising from payroll design, testing, parallel pay runs, and go-live activities

Leading the interpretation of enterprise agreements, awards, local agreements, and legacy industrial instruments

Advising on, validating, and stress‑testing pay rules, exceptions, and remediation scenarios

Acting as a key liaison between I&ER, Payroll, the program team, and external vendors

Providing technical guidance and decision‑making support to the Senior Advisor – I&ER

Participating in regular program governance forums and I&ER alignment sessions
