### Job DescriptionClemenger BBDO is looking for an experienced Freelance Strategy Director to join the Media team in Melbourne on a 6 Month Contract!
The Strategy Director is a senior strategic leader within our media team, working seamlessly across the integrated creative group. This role sits at the intersection of brand, media, data, culture and creativity - shaping the strategic direction for clients and driving connected thinking across disciplines.You will be responsible for leading the strategic relationship with clients, identifying opportunities for growth, and delivering end-to-end strategic solutions that integrate media strategy, communications planning, insight and analytics.As a champion of our Never Standing Still culture, you will elevate strategic thinking across the entire agency ecosystem, inspiring teams to push boundaries, think differently and deliver work that moves people and moves business.**Key Responsibilities****Client Leadership & Strategy*** Serve as an indispensable strategic partner to senior clients, bringing clarity, vision and direction to their business challenges.* Develop holistic strategies that integrate brand, media and creative thinking to drive measurable business outcomes.* Build deep category, audience and cultural understanding to deliver insight-led media and communication strategies.* Lead collaborative strategic conversations, workshops and immersions that unlock new value and new thinking.* Translate complex business issues into clear, compelling strategic narratives.**Integrated Collaboration*** Work hand-in-hand with creative, media, digital, social, CX and data teams to ensure unified strategic thinking and integrated execution.* Shape the strategic bridge between creative and media - ensuring the “big idea” and “media idea” reinforce each other.* Partner closely with agency village leaders to drive cross-discipline cohesion and connected product delivery.* Bring proactive strategic opportunities to both internal teams and clients, strengthening the integrated agency offering.**Insight, Research & Data*** Use industry tools, proprietary systems and third-party research to uncover human truths, cultural tensions and audience behaviours.* Work with analytics & data specialists to turn data into meaningful insight that informs media and creative strategy.* Identify growth opportunities through data interpretation, category analysis and cultural understanding.**Media Strategy & Communications Planning*** Build innovative and effective media strategies grounded in audience insight, cultural relevance and channel behaviour.* Develop connection strategies that link creative ideas with media ecosystems and customer journeys.* Ensure strategies are media-literate, practical and actionable and can be translated into integrated media plans.**Innovation & Thought Leadership*** Champion new ways of thinking and emerging strategic methodologies across the media and creative landscape.* Drive a culture of innovation by bringing fresh perspectives, cultural intelligence and strategic stimulus to teams.* Contribute to agency thought leadership, POVs and strategic frameworks that enhance our group offering.**Stakeholder & Media Partner Relationships*** Build strong relationships with media owners' strategy and insights teams to stay ahead of emerging trends and opportunities.* Ensure the agency's strategic output is enriched by media partner intelligence, innovation and collaboration.**New Business & Agency Growth*** Lead the strategy workstream for new business pitches across the integrated group.* Identify new strategic services, tools and approaches that strengthen the media agency's product and competitiveness.* Play a key role in shaping the future of our media strategy practice.**Qualifications & Experience*** 8+ years in media, communications strategy, creative strategy, or a hybrid role within an agency or consultancy.* Proven track record developing integrated strategies that connect creative and media thinking.* Highly skilled strategic problem solver with strong commercial acumen.* Demonstrated ability to uncover human and cultural insight and translate it into actionable strategy.* Comfortable working with data, analytics and research tools to create meaningful insight.* Deep understanding of how media works, how creative works, and how both can work better together.* Strong storytelling and communication skills - able to inspire senior clients and internal teams.* Experience leading senior client relationships and driving long-term strategic partnerships.* Proven involvement in award-winning creative or effectiveness work.* Collaborative mindset, with the ability to navigate an integrated agency environment effectively.* Naturally curious, culturally connected and always seeking new perspectives.**About Clemenger BBDO's Media Team:**We unite the scale of a global media network with the soul of a creative agency.Bold ideas.
