Overview Opportunity to join a leading international green energy developer company as Legal Counsel, or Risk Control Manager, based on experience.

Office: Melbourne

Please note this is an on-site role and requires the person to be based in Melbourne, or willing to relocate to Melbourne

Responsibilities

Support legal matters in project development; in this role you will also be actively involved in project development activities.

Responsible for risk control for the company's investments in power station projects (solar & energy storage), including participation in designing the project acquisition plan, drafting, negotiation, revision and review of contracts, risk evaluation and avoidance, project construction supervision, etc.

Support business line development teams and other teams involved in drafting and negotiating documents supporting their activities and the development of the projects, including drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements such as

EPC agreements , land options, leases, connection agreements, PPAs, tender documents, etc.

Accompany the projects through financial close, including reviewing and drafting of loan agreements, security agreements, common terms agreements, liaising with lenders' legal advisors, etc.

Research local laws, regulations and policies including company law, investment law, land law, construction law, civil and commercial law and other related laws, photovoltaic power project policies, and the practical operations of relevant laws and regulations.

Study the relevant laws and regulations related to the project and their practical operations.

Assist and supervise the external law firm to complete the project legal service work.

Qualifications

Strong legal experience in the renewable or power industry.

Strong skills in legal research and writing.

Careful and meticulous; able to work under high pressure.

Key Skills

Ability to communicate legal risks and recommendations to senior managers in the company.

Problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, judgement, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proactive and creative legal analysis will be key.
