Job Description In a time of increasing regulatory complexity and evolving business needs, Cotality is seeking a proactive and commercially minded legal professional with exceptional communication skills and a passion for delivering strategic legal solutions. We are looking for someone who can navigate complex legal landscapes, mitigate risks, and provide clear, business‑focused advice that drives operational excellence.

As Corporate Counsel, you will play a critical role in shaping legal processes, managing compliance programs, and supporting major commercial transactions. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure the organisation operates within legal frameworks while achieving its strategic objectives.

What You Will Be Doing

Develop processes and procedures for efficient legal operations and risk mitigation

Build and retain the organisation’s legal intellectual capital

Design and implement legal compliance programs

Identify and manage legal risks in contracts, operations, and claims

Manage matters briefed to external lawyers and oversee advice provided internally

Provide guidance on legal and regulatory issues impacting the business

Negotiate major and non‑routine commercial transactions

Research legislation and ensure relevant teams are informed of new or proposed laws

Job Qualifications What You Will Bring: Essential

Superior written and verbal communication skills across all levels

Strong drafting ability and attention to detail

Ability to interpret legal requirements and apply them to business operations

Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and escalations

Commercially focused approach to legal advice

Minimum 2 years’ experience in Commercial law and/or litigation, Telecommunications law, Trade Practices law, and Intellectual Property law

Preferred

Experience in managing complex legal projects within a corporate environment

Exposure to regulatory compliance programs and risk management frameworks
