Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded over 40 years ago by strong Anangu women who sought a voice and a vehicle to implement change for their communities. We are proudly Anangu‑led, grounded in women’s law, authority and culture, and guided by the collective agency of women and our guiding principles.
Today, we deliver critical health, social and cultural services to 24 remote desert communities across
350,000 km²
spanning the
NT, SA and WA
tri‑state regions. We are also a powerful advocate, strengthening Anangu‑led solutions to improve the lives of women, children and families.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman with strong cultural knowledge, a commitment to community‑led decision‑making, and a deep belief in Anangu women’s authority
ABOUT THE TEAM
The CEO position sits as part of the Directorate team, responsible for leading executive management of the organisation in close consultation with elected Directors of NPY Women’s Council. With a new five‑year strategic plan prioritising operational excellence, this role will be a critical part of the team as we embark on exciting projects and organisational improvements.
ABOUT YOU
You are a courageous and values‑driven Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander woman who leads with integrity, trust and accountability. You bring proven senior leadership capability and confidence working across complex stakeholder environments including government, funders, community and partner organisations.
You have a strategic and team building mindset — able to see the big picture while maintaining strong operational oversight. You understand governance, risk, finance and organisational compliance, and can successfully guide an organisation through growth, change and opportunity.
Most importantly, you are deeply committed to empowering First Nations women and communities, ensuring decisions are guided by culture, Country and the voices of those we serve.
Experience
Demonstrated senior leadership experience in community, government or non‑profit sectors, including leading teams, strategy and organisational outcomes.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in management, community services, business, social sciences or a related discipline,
OR
equivalent experience, knowledge and cultural authority.
