Maribyrnong City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Buildings to lead the end-to-end delivery of a diverse portfolio of community building capital works projects. This role will focus on feasibility, project planning, design management, stakeholder engagement and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with Council’s strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Coordinator Project Delivery – Buildings, you will manage consultants, contractors and project support staff to deliver high-quality building projects including renewals, upgrades and new facilities. You will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development and design through to construction, handover and post-completion review. A strong focus on safety, risk management, quality control and customer service will be essential to success in this role.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in managing building and community infrastructure projects, ideally within a local government or similar public-sector client-side environment. You will have demonstrated expertise in contract administration, consultant and contractor management, cost control and stakeholder engagement. A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Building, Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is preferred, along with strong proficiency in project management systems and the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian standards, and occupational health and safety requirements is essential.
