The Opportunity
We are on the hunt for a forward-thinking Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative and dynamic team based at our corporate manufacturing site in Keysborough.
Working with an iconic customer portfolio across the Original Equipment (OE) sector, you will lead the design, development and delivery of best-in-class automotive products that not only meet but exceed industry standards.
What we need you to do
Lead the charge on key customer projects, collaborating and working cross functionally, ensuring product specifications, product performance, cost target and project DIFOT are met
Utilise Solidworks / CAD to design and develop new, manufacturable products, ensuring compliance with AS1100 standards.
Deliver all assigned projects, managing detailed project plans, identifying risks, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans
Organise FEA simulations and performance tests to refine your designs, prioritizing safety, performance, and compliance.
Drive prototype development, iterating based on test data to perfect our offerings
Partner with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless production processes and supply chain is capable and integrated into the development process.
Play a key role in process improvements, internal audits, and maintaining our project management and drafting tools.
Customer centric (internal & external) and collegial in your approach, you will create an environment that positively re-enforces the cross functional relationships and professional growth.
What you bring to the table
You are commercially inclined and possess a strong sense of ownership in seeing each task through to completion, allowing you to seamlessly manage multiple projects at any given time.
Formal qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics) CP Engineering/ NER or working towards accreditation
Demonstrated knowledge of
Design and Material Manufacturing Engineering
Expertise and working knowledge of sheet metal, 3D CAD modelling, and FEA
You're well-versed in manufacturing processes, AS1100 drafting standards, and Australian Standards, legislation, and ADRs.
Lead by doing - you excel at mentoring and fostering a collaborative team environment.
With strong analytical skills and a solutions-driven mindset, you're always ready to tackle new challenges.
You're adaptable and thrive in fast-paced, ever-evolving project landscapes.
