Head of Financial Control - Global Infrastructure
The Client

A globally‑listed business with a strong period of growth domestically over recent years, they are continuing to develop at the forefront of Australia’s industry and are seeking a Financial Control lead to assist with this trajectory. Located in Melbourne’s CBD in a dedicated office space, offering hybrid working arrangement and potential for internal mobility for the successful candidate in future, this is a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership position with an established, high‑performance team and drive key outcomes.
The Role
Reporting directly to the APAC CFO and leading a dedicated team of professionals you will be responsible for:
Leading monthly reporting obligations, working cross‑functionally with business unit leaders to achieve timely submission of all requirements.
Managing statutory requirements, including lodgement of financial reports for all relevant entities and leading the audit process.
Performing analytical reviews and reporting on P&L amounts, as well as ensuring timely balance sheet reconciliations at each close.
Providing key technical accounting advice and recommendations for new standards, drafting position papers and ensuring uniform practices are adhered to across the business.
Overseeing transactional finance requirements (payables, receivables, settlements etc.) to comply with payment terms and optimising working capital and cashflow.
Mentoring the wider Financial Control team, providing guidance and leadership which ensures continued growth and development for junior staff.
Acting as SME for the development of financial systems, ensuring their adherence to internal policies and accounting standards.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role the ideal candidate will have:
CA / CPA qualification.
High‑level technical accounting capabilities, and demonstrated experience in leading functions.
Experience in a large‑scale matrix or multi‑national structure – experience in heavy asset & infrastructure businesses is strongly preferred.
Previous experience with finance systems and implementations is highly regarded, particularly SAP.
Confidence managing larger teams, developing junior members of staff and fostering high‑performance cultures.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally and influence change across the business.
