About us
The North Metropolitan Eating Disorders Specialist Service (NMEDSS) is an intensive community outpatient service that provides evidence‑based treatment for eating disorders, through a day programme and multidisciplinary outpatient clinics. We take a person‑centred and recovery‑oriented approach with a multi‑disciplinary team that includes clinical nursing, dietetics, psychology, social work, exercise physiology, psychiatry, general medical physician and peer support. Our services are available to people 16 years and over with a diagnosed eating disorder, currently living in the NMHS catchment area or associated linked areas in regional Western Australia.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership, coordination and direction to a multi‑disciplinary team responsible for delivering evidence‑based best practice eating disorder treatment. You will be responsible for the psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment of clients, and evaluate the provision of recovery‑oriented best‑practice treatment in the service. This is a permanent sessional appointment at 8 sessions per fortnight. This vacancy is subject to a Western Australian Working With Children (WWC) Check.

NMHS contains Western Australia’s largest mental health service caring for youths, adults and older adults, delivered through inpatient units, community mental health clinics and day therapy and outreach programmes to a catchment area of almost 1 million people. State‑wide and tertiary services include research, forensics, neurosciences, art therapy, eating disorders and other specialised services.
