Rockpress is a long-established, Brisbane-based advanced metal manufacturing business, delivering high-precision components and assemblies across defence, rail, aerospace, construction, transport, mining and broader industrial markets. Their 16,000m² purpose-built facility spans seven dedicated sheds and houses laser cutting, CNC punching, CNC press braking, 3D tube laser processing, machining, fabrication and surface treatment operations, providing true end-to-end manufacturing capability.

The Opportunity Due to sustained growth and increasing demand across key sectors, Rockpress is seeking an experienced

Senior Sales Estimator

to play a critical role in driving commercial outcomes across the business.

This is a senior, growth-focused position offering genuine influence over pricing, estimating strategy and customer engagement. Reporting to the Sales Manager and Leadership Team, you will sit at the intersection of technical estimating, commercial decision-making and customer relationships, with scope to help shape systems, mentor others and support the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of complex, high-value quotes and tenders across multiple industry sectors

Collaborate with customers, engineers, suppliers and internal production teams to accurately scope project requirements

Drive new and repeat business opportunities across defence, rail, transport, construction and mining markets

Apply sound estimating principles, margin control and pricing strategies within the M1 ERP system

Support order progression, delivery commitments and ongoing customer communication

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across estimating processes, systems, quality and safety

Act as a senior technical and commercial resource within the sales and estimating function

About You

Trade qualified in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking or Mechanical Engineering

preferred , however candidates with

extensive senior estimating or manufacturing sales experience

will also be strongly considered

Proven experience in senior estimating, quoting or technical sales within a manufacturing environment

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence pricing, margins and outcomes

Confident communicator who enjoys building long-term customer partnerships

Comfortable working with ERP systems and technical documentation

Detail-focused, organised and capable of managing multiple priorities

Passion for continuous improvement and best-practice manufacturing
