Description

Lead the Cardiology Department at Townsville University Hospital on a fixed‑term, 3‑year contract (minimum 40 hours per fortnight, negotiable up to full‑time). A permanent substantive Staff Specialist position may also be negotiable.

About the Role This senior leadership role combines clinical excellence, research, and teaching. You’ll manage complex patient care, mentor junior doctors, and drive service development across North Queensland’s tertiary cardiac referral unit

What’s on offer?

Remuneration package up to AUD $536,916 p.a.

Salary AUD $204,206 - $266,677 p.a. (f/t) or AUD $100.78 - $127.77 p.h. (p/t)

Requirements

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent)

Electrophysiology/pacing training consistent with CSANZ guidelines and/or advanced clinical experience

Expertise in echocardiography (transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, and 3D)

Participation in the on‑call roster and outreach services (including travel by light aircraft)
