Are you a Commercial Finance Manager or Financial Controller tired of the daily commute to Docklands?

Bean Squeeze

is looking for a strategic

Head of Finance

to partner with the Managing Director and lead our financial function. We are a locally owned, high-volume hospitality group with

16 drive-thru stores

(and growing) supported by a dedicated

Central Food Manufacturing Kitchen .

This is not a "back-office bookkeeping" role. We have external partners for that. This is a "front-line commercial" role. You will be the architect of our financial strategy, owning the budgeting models, driving menu engineering, and policing the transfer pricing between our manufacturing and retail arms.

The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will move our finance function from "Compliance" (what happened last month?) to "Performance" (how do we improve next month?).

You will own the single source of truth for the business, leveraging a tech stack of

Xero, Calxa, Square, and Tanda.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy:

Own the financial modelling for our

New Site Rollout Playbook

(Capex, ROI, Breakeven) to support our expansion to 30 stores by 2030.

Procurement Transformation:

We currently manage stock ordering via Google Sheets. You will lead the project to select and implement a dedicated Inventory & Procurement platform (e.g., Restoke, Supy, or similar) to streamline ordering between our 16 stores and the Central Kitchen.

Manufacturing Analysis:

Manage the

Internal Transfer Pricing

model between the Central Kitchen and the Stores. You will monitor yield, wastage, and input costs to ensure genuine profitability across the group.

Cash Flow Mastery:

Manage a rigorous

13-week rolling cash flow forecast

(using Calxa), managing the timing of BAS, payroll, and supplier payments.

Driver-Based Budgeting:

Move us away from flat-line budgeting to dynamic, driver-based models that adjust labour and COGS targets based on store volume.

Store Scorecards:

Turn complex P&L data into simple, actionable weekly scorecards for our Store Managers to drive accountability.

Systems Architecture:

Ensure data flows seamlessly between POS, Rostering, Inventory, and Xero.

Who We Are Looking For You are likely a Senior Finance Manager or FC in a multi-site retail or hospitality business who is ready to step up and run their own department.

Experience:

You must have experience in

Multi-Site Retail, Hospitality, or FMCG Manufacturing . You understand that a Central Kitchen is a factory, and you know how to account for it.

The Tech You are an expert in

Xero

and advanced budgeting tools (specifically

Calxa , Fathom, or Spotlight). You don't just use Excel; you build automated systems.

Crucially, you have experience implementing operational software.

You are not afraid to kill off a spreadsheet and replace it with a scalable system.

The Style You are hands-on. You are happy to roll up your sleeves to fix a reconciliation issue, but confident enough to present strategic insights to the Directors.

The Location You are based in (or willing to relocate to) the Geelong region.
