We’re looking for a
Manager Government Relations
to play a pivotal role in shaping RAC’s relationships and engagements across all levels of government and influencing public policy outcomes that matter to our members and the WA community.
You’ll lead RAC’s advocacy agenda with government, working closely with senior leaders to position RAC as a trusted voice, thought leader and partner on critical policy issues.
This is a highly visible role, engaging directly with ministers, senior officials, industry leaders and stakeholders to advance RAC’s purpose and priorities.
What you will be responsible for:
Lead and deliver RAC’s government relations and advocacy strategy on key policy issues
Build and maintain strong, high‑calibre relationships across State and Federal Government, industry bodies and key stakeholders
Monitor political, parliamentary, media and industry developments, providing proactive and timely advice to senior leaders
Identify opportunities to promote RAC’s purpose, vision and mission through evidence‑based advocacy and partnerships
Represent RAC at the highest levels, influencing policy outcomes and positioning RAC as a trusted and credible voice
Develop high‑quality briefings and research to support advocacy and issue management
Provide advice on State funding agreements and opportunities arising from Commonwealth and State arrangements
Act as a trusted adviser during sensitive issues or emerging crises
What you will bring:
Significant experience in government relations, advocacy, public policy or public affairs
Strong understanding of State and Federal political systems and decision‑making processes
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, including ministers, government officials and industry leaders
Experience providing trusted advice and situational awareness to senior executivesHighly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate in politically sensitive environments
The confidence to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and perform under pressure
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science or a related field
