Federal Government Agency contract - ASAP until 30th June 2026 + 2 x 12 months extension option
Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance! A clearance holder is highly preferred with gov experience
Job details
Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:
Providing technical advice and support to the technical lead, product owner, co-design representatives, business analysts, solution architects, testers and other various stakeholders;
Reviewing solution designs and providing feedback;
Developing, maintaining and enabling automated performance of unit testing for system components;
Development and maintenance of Azure DevOps Pipelines to manage automated deployments, security scanning and quality assurance;
Complying with departmental methodologies (e.g. project, service, release and change management) to maintain, support and review/upgrade existing capabilities;
Providing delivery managers, the product owner and the multi-disciplinary team with status updates and development effort estimates for changes during and outside of Agile ceremonies;
Security vulnerability remediation, library and package updates, including dependency management, in accordance with departmental processes;
Leading and participating in code review practices with peer developers;
Participating in technical verification testing (TVT) post PROD deployments;
Troubleshooting production system incidents, problems and defects.
About the team
The Data Platforms Section is responsible for maintaining an Enterprise repository encompassing the majority of data within the Department. It is responsible for acquiring and processing data from internal source systems and external agencies. The section oversees the operation of the Connected Information Environment (CIE) which consists of Teradata, AWS Cloud Platforms and Analyst Desktop.
About the organisation
The Data Platforms Applications team is responsible for development and management of applications that inform risk and intelligence-based decision making, both at the Border and in an analytical capacity. This role will contribute to the provisioning of Data to follow-on systems, ABF users, data scientists, business users and policy areas for Integration, Reporting, Intelligence/Profiling function and Analytical purposes.
Criteria

Skillsets
Minimum 1+ years' experience working with Applications hosted in
AWS Cloud
environments.
Demonstrated ability to contribute design advice using both technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
