Software Engineering Manager

Leading ASX listed organisation is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead their growing engineering team and help shape the future of their award winning SaaS product. This role is part leader, part coach, and part hands‑on technologist. You’ll guide the team in building scalable, reliable, and user‑focused software while fostering a culture where people love to work, learn, and create.

What You’ll Do Lead & inspire the team – set direction, provide clarity, and help engineers do their best work.

Grow people – hire, mentor, and support team members in their careers.

Work closely with Product, Design, and other teams to turn ideas into high‑quality software.

Keep standards high – champion good coding practices, testing, security, and scalability.

Balance now vs next – make smart calls on tech debt, deadlines, and future‑proofing.

Shape how they work – improve processes, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration to keep moving fast without breaking things.

Be a connector – translate between technical and non‑technical teams, making sure everyone stays aligned.

About You You’ve been a skilled software engineer yourself and know what good code looks like, demonstrated experience with the .NET languages and frameworks (including Framework and Core) or Java language and frameworks.

You have a high degree of understanding of SQL, in particular T‑SQL.

You’ve managed development teams before and genuinely enjoy helping people grow.

You have experience building SaaS products, ideally in a cloud‑native environment.

You know Agile/lean practices but aren’t dogmatic about process.

You’re great at prioritisation — focusing the team on what matters most.

You’re curious, collaborative, and always looking for better ways to do things.
