Director of Sport

St Catherine’s School is seeking an outstanding and values-driven Director of Sport to lead and shape our vibrant, high-achieving sports program.

As an inaugural member of Girls Sport Victoria (GSV), St Catherine’s has a proud tradition of empowering girls through sport, promoting lifelong participation, wellbeing, leadership and excellence. With state-of-the-art facilities, a thriving Rowing program, Snowsports, Netball pathways and our Athlete Development Academy, this is an exciting opportunity to lead one of Melbourne’s most respected girls’ school sports programs.

The Opportunity The Director of Sport provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all sport across the School. This role is responsible for fostering a culture where girls are empowered to participate, compete, and thrive, from participation pathways through to elite performance.

The role includes a teaching component and requires a passionate educator who can engage and inspire students through both curriculum and co-curricular sport.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and implement a strategic vision for sport aligned with St Catherine’s values and commitment to holistic development

Oversee all GSV programs, House Sport, Netball, Rowing, Snowsports and the Athletic Development Academy

Drive student participation, performance outcomes and inclusive sporting pathways

Manage staffing, coaching appointments, scheduling, logistics and budgets

About You You will be a dynamic and experienced sports leader with:

Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field

Extensive experience leading complex school or community sport programs

Demonstrated success managing inter-school competition and high-performance pathways

Strong operational capability including scheduling, staffing and risk management

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
