About the Program
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, with Each as a leading agency since 2006. We provide early intervention mental health services to 12–25-year-olds across Australia, supporting over 145 communities through in‑person, online, and phone counselling, vocational services, and schools.
We’re launching something truly groundbreaking – the headspace Early Psychosis (hEP) Service in lutruwita Tasmania, and we want you to be a part of it! This innovative program is designed to provide young people with early detection and life‑changing intervention for psychosis – a chance to make a difference when it matters most.
Your role, your impact

Reporting to the Clinical Directorand working closely with thePsychiatry Registrar, headspace Early Psychosis Manager, and headspace Eastern Shore Manager, you will lead the delivery of high‑quality clinical care to young people across the state.
Key responsibilities
Lead clinical care for young people across Tasmania, from intake through to treatment completion
Assess, diagnose, and treat in collaboration with clients, families, and referring agents
Develop and implement discharge plans to ensure continuity of care for young people and their families
Offer clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to clinical staff
Contribute to staff training, policy development, research, and quality improvement
Your work will directly support young people experiencing or recovering from psychosis, helping them and their families navigate complex challenges and build brighter futures.
About you
You are passionate about working with young people and are interested in Early Psychosis :
Experience working with people aged 12 to 25
Advanced clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, risk management, and treatment provision
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in multidisciplinary collaboration
A proven track record in working with diverse and vulnerable populations, including those with physical health, sexual health, mental health, and AOD presentations
Commitment to inclusive, youth‑focused, and evidence‑informed care
Mandatory qualifications
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
Medical degree and full current registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Accredited RANZCP supervisor for registrars in training
Current driver’s licence
