About the Company
Law Staff is managing a rare in-house lawyer role, focused on high-profile property projects. Headquartered in Brisbane (but with a nationwide presence), the company’s portfolio spans commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments across multiple states, reflecting its reputation for quality and innovation.
As a growing developer making waves in the market, they are known for delivering landmark, widely recognised projects that set the benchmark in the industry. Their close-knit, high-performing legal team is seeking an In-House Property Lawyer with a passion for property development to contribute to high-value, complex projects respected across the property sector.
The Opportunity
This role has been created due to company growth, where the successful candidate will have the luxury of choosing whether their engagement is full-time or part-time arrangements (4 days/week).
Reporting to the head of legal, key responsibilities include:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, including leases, construction agreements, consultant agreements, NDAs, and regulatory applications
Providing legal advice on property development, planning, leasing, construction, and consultancy matters
Supervising and supporting mid-level lawyers within the team
Managing and liaising with external counsel and consultants for outsourced matters
Providing guidance on project-related legal and regulatory issues.
About You
You will bring:
4-7 years post-admission experience
Proven experience in property, and planning and development experience is desirable but not essential
Ability to support the team and contribute to high-value, complex property projects
Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
Strong analytical, drafting, communication, and problem-solving skills
Interest in high-value, complex property projects
Full work rights in Australia.
