We’re now looking for a skilled
Compliance Partner
to join our
Risk Assurance
team and help keep our growing, purpose‑driven organisation safe, trusted and compliant.
About the role
Reporting to the Risk Assurance Leader, the Compliance Partner plays a key role in monitoring the regulatory environment, advising leaders on their obligations and supporting the design and delivery of HomeStart’s Compliance Program within our Assurance Framework.
You will partner closely with the Risk Business Partner, Line 1 leaders, Legal and other stakeholders to identify and manage compliance risks, keep our frameworks current, and provide clear, practical advice that supports good customer outcomes and sustainable growth. The role also supports our outsourced Internal Audit function and contributes to reporting for the Executive, Audit & Risk Committee and Board.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Act as a trusted partner to divisional and people leaders, providing timely, high quality advice on compliance matters.
Take ownership of assigned compliance obligations and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Compliance Program, plans and policies.
Monitor the regulatory environment, interpret changes in laws and standards, and translate these into clear guidance and actions.
Facilitate workshops and briefings to build compliance capability and induct new employees into their obligations.
Support the delivery of AML/CTF obligations and assist with external matters such as AFCA disputes and regulator queries.
Prepare concise, insightful compliance reports and information papers for senior management, the Audit & Risk Committee and the Board.
What you’ll bring
You will bring a balance of regulatory rigour and practical, business‑friendly advice, including:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in compliance and/or risk management in financial services or a comparable commercial environment.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, business, commerce or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of financial services regulations, standards and frameworks, with sound judgement in managing regulatory obligations and risks.
Experience developing and improving compliance frameworks, policies, procedures or monitoring activities.
High level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and the ability to present to diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to build strong relationships, influence constructively and manage competing priorities.
A strategic, customer‑focused and collaborative mindset, with an interest in continuous improvement and innovation.
Knowledge of AML/CTF obligations is also desirable.
