Technology Macq01

Job Description

About FederalGroup Working in one of Tasmania’s most stunning locations, on the waterfront just outside the Hobart CBD at WrestPoint, you will join our motivated and experienced Technology team.

At Federal Group, our Technology team is anything but traditional. We’re a dynamic, forward-thinking crew and know that Networks are the backbone of our business.

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineering Team Lead to own our enterprise network platform. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role with end‑to‑end accountability for the network domain; spanning architecture, delivery, operations, security, and roadmap execution.

What can you expect from a day in this role? Our Network Engineering Team Lead acts as the technical authority and platform owner for networking across the organisation, while leading a small team and working closely with engineers, project teams, contractors, and vendors. This role balances roadmap ownership with practical delivery, ensuring our network environment is reliable, secure, scalable, and fit for future growth.

What will you bring to the role? Our Network Engineering Team Lead will enjoy genuine ownership and influence, working on a platform that underpins everything the organisation does. This is a role for someone who wants to shape the future of enterprise networking, not just maintain it.

Extensive experience owning and leading enterprise network platforms end‑to‑end

Strong hands‑on expertise across Cisco, Meraki, Fortigate and Azure networking

Lead architectural design for new initiatives, upgrades, and transformations.

Manage and prioritise work across: Daily operations (Kanban), Roadmap initiatives (Agile) and Projects (hybrid Agile / Waterfall)

Proven ability to design, document and deliver secure, reliable, always‑on networks

Experience defining and executing network roadmaps alongside BAU and project work

Confident technical leadership, with experience mentoring engineers and setting standards

Strong operational mindset, including incident management, resilience and security

Ability to work effectively with vendors, manage budgets, and build business cases

Clear communication skills, translating complex network concepts for diverse stakeholders

What you can expect from us This is an excellent opportunity to join Tasmania’s largest private employer, based at WrestPoint. This is a chance for you to advance your skills, work with award‑winning brands, join an excellent team and grow your career.

Along with this fantastic role, you will also receive:

Delicious FREE staff meal available per shift and FREE secure onsite parking at WrestPoint

FREE monthly dry cleaning.

Access to hundreds of discounts across many brands, helping you save on everyday expenses, including phone bills, fuel and groceries, fashion, restaurants, and entertainment.

Supportive work environment with learning and development opportunities.
