Your New Role The Head of Investment Governance & Compliance is a senior leadership role critical to the effective implementation of Project MORE (Member Outcomes through Risk Excellence) and for leading the governance, compliance and regulatory engagement for the Investments Domain.

Key Responsibilities include:

Leading regulatory engagement and ensuring timely, accurate responses to regulatory requests and reviews;

Managing all regulatory engagements and requirements for the Investments domain, ensuring compliance with APRA, ASIC, and other relevant bodies;

Advising the CIO and Investments Executive on key regulatory matters;

Monitoring regulatory developments and proactively updating frameworks, policies, and processes and ensuring Investments has the highest standard of compliance expected by the regulators;

Ensuring implementation of Project MORE from a governance perspective;

Enhancing investment risk governance and oversight by embedding strong risk practices and governance structures including Line 2 participation in key forums and investment processes;

Providing the frameworks to support the Fund's 2035 strategy, ensuring risk management is integrated into decision‑making and accountability is clear;

Setting, developing, and maintaining the governance framework and guardrails for the Investments function;

Overseeing the Investment Strategy Statement (ISS), Strategy Ratings, and Mandate review process, ensuring all documents are current, compliant, and aligned with the Fund's strategy;

Managing the lifecycle of mandates, including creation, review, approval, and periodic refresh;

Ensuring the Portfolio Compliance function in Fund Services is effective and able to appropriately oversight the control and monitoring of all mandates;

Leading the Portfolio and regulatory compliance function and ensure Investments operates within all mandates and according to the Fund's Policies, Standards and Procedures and the Fund's Key Decision Registers and the delegated authorities;

Stewarding a strong risk culture within the Investments function, promoting accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management;

Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and Board sub‑committees.

What You'll Need

Extensive experience in investment governance, risk management, or portfolio management within superannuation, asset management, or related sector;

Deep understanding of investment governance frameworks, mandate management, and regulatory requirements (especially APRA SPS 530);

Deep understanding of multi‑asset investment strategies, unlisted assets, investment risk management, liquidity and other key investment issues;

Demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders and regulatory engagement and compliance in a complex investment environment;

Exceptionally strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills;

Proven ability to drive process improvement and embed governance culture;

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Law, or related field.
