Responsibilities
As a Senior Property Underwriter at Zurich, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth, innovation, and excellence across our commercial property portfolio. Reporting to the Property & Marine Underwriting Manager, NSW/ACT, this role focuses on identifying market opportunities, developing new propositions, and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to position Zurich as a leader in the field.
You’ll be part of a small, agile team backed by Zurich’s global expertise and underwriting capacity. Supporting the delivery of financial plans and ensuring underwriting is aligned with internal guidelines and timelines.
Collaborating with stakeholders across the market to grow the property portfolio and promote Zurich’s capabilities.
Driving continuous improvement through coaching, development, and process optimisation.
Leveraging underwriting tools, AI, and IT systems to enhance service delivery and support organisational change.
Managing expenses with a focus on cost efficiency and implementing quality assurance measures.
Staying informed on legislative and industry changes and contributing to strategic decisions.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in underwriting or senior underwriting roles.
Proven success in outcome‑driven underwriting and stakeholder collaboration.
Strong understanding of customer loyalty and retention strategies.
Proficiency in Office 365, AI technologies, and relevant underwriting software tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels.
Analytical thinking and commercial insight, with the ability to solve complex problems and lead process improvements.
