Purpose
The Chief Data and AI Officer drives data, AI, and automation capability across Global Business Services (GBS), accelerating enterprise-wide adoption of intelligent automation, AI insights, and data-driven decision making. The role shapes a shared vision, delivers measurable value through strategic automation and platform optimisation, and plays a critical role in GBS transformation. Success depends on strong change leadership, cross-functional influence, and the ability to scale proven capabilities.
Primary Accountabilities & Objectives
Team & Change Leadership
Build a high-performing culture and address integration challenges between automation and data teams
Define clear roles and pathways and strengthen collaboration across key business, technology, and risk functions
Strategic Leadership & Financial Ownership
Deliver a three-year roadmap focused on high-value opportunities
Own financial performance, ROI, and chair the Investment Committee
Automation & AI Strategy
Drive intelligent automation across finance, technology, and people & culture processes
Champion AI adoption across enterprise platforms and manage a balanced pipeline of quick wins and long-term initiatives
Support the AI Enablement Board and ensure responsible AI use
Platform Optimisation & AI Enablement
Establish integration patterns and reusable components
Identify and adopt underused AI and automation features
Maximise platform value through predictive analytics, automated fulfilment, and AI-powered self-service
Enterprise Data Strategy & Governance
Lead enterprise data strategy with privacy, security, and compliance by design
Build unified data platforms and mature governance capabilities
Enable AI through high-quality datasets and promote data literacy and self-service analytics
Stakeholder Management & Influence
Build strong executive relationships and present business cases to senior leadership
Influence decisions across functions and regions while managing competing priorities
Value Realisation & Performance Management
Drive adoption and change to ensure forecast benefits are achieved
Establish measurement frameworks, transparent reporting, and dashboards
Hold teams accountable for business outcomes
Experience
10+ years in data, AI, automation, or digital transformation with leadership of enterprise-scale initiatives and teams of 10+
Strong experience in financial performance management, driving ROI, and delivering measurable value
Deep knowledge of intelligent automation, AI/ML, data platforms, governance, integration patterns, privacy, and security
Ability to influence without authority and operate across complex, multi-country environments
Strong understanding of platforms including Workday, ServiceNow, and UiPath
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, with certifications in data management, AI, automation platforms, or project management.
