About the role As Legal Counsel, you’ll provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across Sunshine Loans and other businesses. Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with the Senior Compliance Manager, this role offers broad exposure across legal, compliance and governance in a regulated financial services environment.

You’ll partner with the business on day‑to‑day legal matters, support regulatory and product governance obligations, and help manage legal risk while enabling commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

Providing clear, commercial legal advice to internal stakeholders

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and supplier contracts

Supporting regulatory and marketing compliance (ACL, ASIC Act, Corporations Act, Privacy & Spam)

Assisting with product governance, including DDOs and TMDs

Contributing to risk and compliance governance, breaches, incidents and reporting

Supporting AML/CTF compliance and AUSTRAC obligations

Assisting with privacy matters, complaints, WHS and policy management

What we’re looking for

Qualified legal practitioner with 2–4 years’ experience (corporate, commercial or financial services)

Strong drafting, legal analysis and problem‑solving skills

A commercial, solutions‑focused approach to legal advice

Confidence working with internal stakeholders and external advisers

Interest in financial services, regulation and compliance (training supported)
