Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high‑performance systems that underpin our market‑leading platforms. You’ll work on complex engineering challenges, mentor talented engineers, and help shape technical direction across our product ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Technical Development
Design and implement sophisticated software solutions using clean, testable, and maintainable code
Build reusable microservices that integrate across teams and platforms
Develop and maintain secure public and private APIs for internal and external consumption
Design and implement advanced caching strategies to support high‑performance applications
Apply strong security practices aligned with financial services regulations
Comfortably use AI tools in daily engineering and quality activities, with an interest in building and testing practical AI‑enabled solutions
Performance & Scalability
Implement multi‑layer caching solutions to optimise response times
Optimise data access patterns and cache invalidation strategies
Build scalable solutions that handle high levels of concurrency
Fine‑tune database queries and system performance to support growth
Quality & Standards
Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation and coding standards
Conduct peer code reviews and champion engineering best practices
Identify, track, and proactively address technical debt
Maintain system documentation, including change and incident records
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical leadership while aligning solutions to business needs
Mentor engineers and support their professional development
Champion Agile practices and actively participate in ceremonies
Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Cyber teams
Support technical decision‑making across delivery and support functions
System Support
Assist application support teams in maintaining system integrity and security
Diagnose and resolve production issues following established processes
Participate in occasional after‑hours support to ensure service continuity
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Software Engineer and/or in a senior technical role
Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and microservices
Strong proficiency with Node.js (experience with NestJS is highly regarded)
Proven expertise in API design and system integration and solid web development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and at least one modern web framework
Experience with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB desirable)
Experience with cloud‑based development (GCP experience is a bonus)
Experienced in using AI tools as part of everyday software quality practices, with a keen interest in engineering, testing, and evolving AI‑enabled solutions that enhance quality, insight, and operational efficiency.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Additional Technical Expertise (Highly Desirable)
Data caching technologies (e.g. DuckDB)
Golang
Microsoft .NET (.NET Core / C#)
