Join Australia’s Leading Property & Strata Law Practice
Bugden Allen is a national, award‑winning law firm specialising in property development, strata, community titles law, debt recovery and insurance‑related matters. Our LevyCollect team, who specialises in the recovery of outstanding strata levies, is Victoria’s leading legal practice in this field. They are looking for a qualified lawyer to join our high‑performing and growing Melbourne team.
This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity designed to give you a strong foundation for a successful legal career in property and strata law. You will receive close mentorship from highly regarded senior lawyers and the General Manager of our LevyCollect team that has over 40 years’ experience in this area. You will get exposure to complex and varied matters, and you will have the chance to work in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
We also pride ourselves on our flexible, family‑first culture. Based in our Melbourne office, you’ll enjoy a supportive environment where your wellbeing is valued, with hybrid work options available after your probation period.
Finally, you’ll be part of a business that embraces innovation and technology. From developing market‑leading legal platforms to streamlining client service, we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve — and you’ll be right there with us.
Key Responsibilities
As a Solicitor in the LevyCollect team, you will act on a range of strata and levy recovery matters. You will be involved in running levy recovery matters from start to finish including drafting correspondence, liaising with strata managers, preparing letters of demand, maintaining all matters, tasks and documents in our systems, and assisting with the preparation and lodgement of court documents if matters become contested. You may also do court and tribunal appearances.
Our expectation is you will work predominantly as a Solicitor in the LevyCollect team for a minimum of 12‑18 months. This role will give you a good foundation for strata law, so career progression into our broader Victorian legal team is a strong possibility. You may choose to stay in the LevyCollect team beyond that. Along with your levy recovery work, subject to your workload, the Victorian leadership team may also ask you to provide some assistance in other areas such as rule drafting and registration work and other strata legal matters.
