Your new role
As a Family Practitioner you will be working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support families whose parenting and family life are impacted by mental health challenges and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use.
You will provide family-focused, strengths-based support, responding to social, emotional, and practical needs while facilitating connections to the right services at the right time.
Through strong engagement, partnership, and advocacy, you will contribute to improved outcomes for children, parents, and families within the community.
In a typical day as a Family Practitioner you might:
Provide recovery-oriented, evidence-based support interventions to families with complex needs, that is flexible and creative.
Contribute to case planning with a focus on safety, stability and development of children based on Best Interest Principles
Coordinate and implement tailored interventions designed to enhance family functioning, increase parenting capacity and client outcomes

Your skills and experience
You Will Bring With You
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, or other related discipline.
Driver’s License valid in Victoria.
Knowledge and experience of the issues facing children, youth and their families and the provision of intervention and support to assist
Experience in working with vulnerable children, young people and families and the ability to work flexibly to meet their needs
Experience in working with those impacted by family violence, substance abuse, physical and mental health issues is highly desirable
